Welcome To Our Family Dentistry Blog!

We are glad that you have found your way to our new website and blog, and we hope that you will now consider entrusting your family to our care.

The team here at Oregon City Family Dentistry is focused on providing excellent dental services that consider your overall health in addition to your current dental needs.

As a true family practice (Dr. Kyle and Dr. Annalisa are husband and wife), we provide care for patients of all ages.

Oregon Family Dentistry welcomes you whether you are see a looking for a dentist for your regular cleanings and exams, or would like to find out more about more customized treatment solutions such as fillings, implants or veneers.

Your first family appointment will give you and your children an opportunity to meet the dentist, see the special tools and machines, and become comfortable with our office in general.

If your kids feel ready to proceed, initial x-rays will be taken, a thorough examination of the mouth and teeth will take place, and a professional teeth cleaning will be completed.

At every visit, and in this ongoing blog, we will discuss the importance of good oral health and all that goes with it (brushing, flossing, rinsing with fluoride, etc).

So, today let’s review some of the habits that make for healthy smiles.

Begin With A Brush

When you brush your teeth twice a day (or more) you will have healthier gums and will fight off cavities and decay.

Know That Brushing Is Never Enough

Maybe you already know that, even as we speak, plaque and tartar are building up in places that you can not see or reach with even the best of toothbrushes.

Any dentist will tell you that there is an easy solution for this dilemma.

Dental Floss!

Flossing works well to cover those hidden areas and is a necessary daily defense against cavities and tooth decay.

Make Fluoride Your Family’s Friend

Research has shown that fluoride can prevent cavities in both children and adults. In some cases, it can even heal the early stages of tooth decay.

When you are here, we can discuss some of the best ways to get the fluoride you need, which brings us to our final healthy habit.

Spend Enough Time With Your Dentist

This is our favorite oral health tip, for a number of reasons.

At Oregon Family Dentistry, we love to get to know our patients and watch families grow and evolve.

But we also love being able to provide specialized care that really does make a difference in your family’s well being.

Our teeth cleanings, when received twice a year, can be extremely effective at supplementing your brushing, flossing, and rinsing. You might not realize it, but there is always going to be plaque, calculus, and stain that must be removed with special dental instruments.

In our office, we also offer dental sealants. A sealant is white resin based material that fills the grooves in your teeth, where your toothbrush is not likely to reach. This treatment defends your teeth against bacteria by acting as a barrier of sorts.

It is also best that your family gets examined by our team on a regular basis. We want to be able to assess the health of your gums and teeth and make sure that everything is as it should be.

Trust us, prevention is always easier (and less painful) than applying treatments later.

Now That You’ve Found Us…

We hope that you fill follow up and schedule your initial appointment with us.

When you do, we promise to honor the trust you place in us, and we will always strive to provide the same level of quality care that we would expect for our own families.
