Can you remember the last time you smiled with total confidence? Have you taught yourself how to smile without showing any trace of your teeth?

At Oregon City Family Dentistry, we understand that even the tiniest flaws in your teeth can ruin a beautiful smile. Stained teeth, chips, cracks, and misshapen teeth can make an otherwise healthy mouth look dingy and unhealthy. To give you your smile back and that extra boost of confidence, our office offers a multitude of cosmetic dentistry services, from teeth-whitening treatments to porcelain veneers and crowns.

A beautiful smile is about much more than liking the way you look. Studies have shown that a brilliant set of pearly whites can lead to better social and professional opportunities. The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry has found that people with great smiles are thought to be smarter and even wealthier. Of course, your smile cannot make you instantly more intelligent, but it can give you the power of an incredible first impression.

Whether you’re struggling with stained teeth or teeth that have worn or failed, our office can provide solutions that are natural-looking and long-lasting.

Here are some ways we can help make your smile pop:

A Brighter Smile

Teeth-whitening treatments have the power to turn a dingy and unhealthy-looking mouth into a Hollywood smile. Using our at-home treatments, you can improve the brightness of your smile by multiple shades. We use a special prescription bleaching gel and custom-made mouthpiece to brighten every corner of your teeth in a matter of only a few hours over a matter of weeks.

At-home whitening is so effective because it gradually whitens the teeth and has the ability to last for years. Teeth-whitening patients should be in good oral health and free of cavities and gum disease.

Tooth-Colored Bonding & Porcelain Veneers

To repair teeth that are chipped, cracked, or heavily stained, we can place a durable and strong composite bond that blends in with the natural color of your tooth. The bond helps cover the flaw and protects the inner layers of the tooth from decay. Bonding is a very low-cost dental treatment that often can be placed without local anesthesia.

Porcelain veneers are stronger and last longer than dental bonds and can absolutely transform your smile. We can place veneers on patients who have had chips, cracks or heavy stains on their teeth. Additionally, porcelain veneers can actually strengthen teeth, especially for patients who have worn enamel or have had root canals on their front teeth. When patients have root canals on their front teeth, typically as a result of trauma, the tooth often discolors and weakens with age. Veneers can strengthen that tooth and decrease the risk of future breaks or even a total loss.

To place porcelain veneers, we first remove a portion of the enamel while you are under local anesthesia. Once the tooth is prepared, we take impressions of your mouth in order to design a permanent restoration that fits your teeth perfectly. The final restoration, about the thickness of a fingernail, will blend in naturally with your smile. Our porcelain veneers do not stain and will last for years!

Smile Makeover

We often see patients who believe there is nothing that can be done to save their smile. That’s almost never the case! Whether you’re in need of one treatment or several cosmetic dentistry procedure, we can oversee your treatment from start to finish and give you a beautiful smile that will last. Using cosmetic wax-ups, we can show you exactly what your smile will look like before we begin any procedure. We simply take an impression of your teeth and use the mold as a model to show you the transformative power of our cosmetic services.
